about
Though this song wasn’t directed at a set of people, it was about a time period that was heavily influenced by a group of people our vocalist felt betrayed him. The song talks about a series of events that happened from our vocalists point of view. We talk about depression and anxiety and how it made these so called “events” so much worse on the vocalists mental mentality. We hope people can interpret our song “Counterfeit” in their own way and hope to see people can relate to our lyrics to apply them in a positive way!
lyrics
[Intro]
The words fall between my fingers like grains of sand
My nerves on edge and I’ve never felt so tense
[Verse 1]
When dawn breaks you’ll never wake up the same
I’m sick of envying the past
The silence, it kills me slowly!
Atone for your sins at the least
We fucking lack hospitality
Balconies ripped beneath my feet
Will This ever change?
(Will This ever change?)
[Chorus]
I swear this won’t make sense
These clouds they pull me under the brighter weather
(Weather)
This can’t be happening
Feed my delusion
I’m so far under
(I'm under)
[Verse 2]
It’ll drag you down, it’ll make you suffer
It’s like suffocating
My throat throbs, I can’t make a fucking sound
When dawn breaks you’ll never wake up the same
I’m sick of envying the past
The silence, it kills me slowly!
[Chorus]
I swear this won’t make sense
These clouds they pull me under the brighter weather
(Weather)
This can’t be happening
Feed my delusion
I’m so far under
(I'm under)
[Verse 3]
This vaulted out from hollow places
I can’t grasp the situation
You wore me out to the point where I can’t fucking restore
It’ll drag you down, it’ll make you suffer
It’s like suffocating
My throat throbs, I can’t make a fucking sound
[Chorus]
I swear this won’t make sense
These clouds they pull me under the brighter weather
(Weather)
This can’t be happening
Feed my delusion
I’m so far under
(I'm under)
[Verse 4]
Just change my play of hand
Anything to put me back in touch
If I could mend this confusion, I’d fucking beg for it!
